Deichtorhallen Hamburg is showing the largest solo exhibition of the artist Katharina Sieverding to date on four floors of the Falckenberg Collection. Around 120 works span all phases of the artist's oeuvre: from the early large-format photographic montages of the 1960s to the visually powerful self-portrait series and cinematic works of the 1970s to the 1990s to current productions. These also include new, previously unseen works such as the documentary film Metroboards about Sieverding's art in public space, and the work Gefechtspause, which deals with the lockdown during the Corona Crisis.
The exhibition PHOTOGRAPHIES, PROJECTIONS, INSTALLATIONS places a special focus on the unwavering relevance of earlier works and the artist's interest in creating installative approaches to the medium of photography.
