Fotografiska New York will launch the Fotografiska Academy - a photography education program which originated at Fotografiska Stockholm - on January 30th, 2022. The Fotografiska Academy is a collaborative, insightful, and relevant initiative which explores and examines all genres of photographic practice at various levels of experience.

Working for hire in print media has undergone profound changes and the marketplace has become more complex. Marcel Saba, the founder of editorial photo agency Redux Pictures, will lead this one-day-intensive and provide insight into this complicated market, and empower photographers as they move into the future.
The curriculum was developed and will be led by photographer, writer, and educator, Stephen Frailey, Chair Emeritus of the School of Visual Arts.
The program includes workshops, seminars, and master classes taught by accomplished photographers and industry leaders such as: Dario Calmese (artist, urbanist, director, brand consultant and first Black photographer to shoot the cover of Vanity Fair); Elinor Carucci (award-winning photographer, exhibited at Museum of Modern Art New York, the Brooklyn Museum of Art, Houston Museum of Fine Art, and contributor to The New York Times Magazine, The New Yorker, Details, New York Magazine, W, Aperture, and ARTnews amongst others), Erik Madigan Heck (award-winning photographer, exhibited at The Musée des Beaux-Art in Le Locle, Switzerland and The Multimedia Arts Museum in Moscow, Russia, with public installations at The Houston Museum of Fine Arts, Paris Photo, Photo London, and Photo Shanghai, and a contributor to The New York Times Magazine, TIME, Vanity Fair, The New Yorker, and Harper's Bazaar amongst others); and Jill Greenberg (award-winning artist and photographer, renowned for her personally executed post production and mastery of studio lighting), amongst others.
