SIPA Creative Award 2021 Contest Jury Panel Announced

SIPA Creative Awards 2021 is enthusiastic to have such a diverse team of experienced professionals to judge the entries of the 2nd edition of the competition. The jury comes from various photography backgrounds. SIPA is looking forward to the selection they will make for this year's contest.

The Jury

Eric T. Langer has been interested in experiencing the world through photography since his student days in Frankfurt. He traveled a lot with his camera and preferred tours off the beaten track. His interest in art, especially photography, led him to become involved in several art associations, to visit countless international art fairs, and to become an active collector. Since 1990 he has lived in Erfurt, Thuringia, and works as a lawyer for civil law. Here he curated exhibitions, remaining true to his focus on photography. He is particularly fascinated by creative street Pictures. He also indulges his passion as editor and curator of the "Fine art Photo Magazin". His family goes along with him; his wife is a graphic designer, and both children show artistic talents. Langer's big wish for 2021: to soon be able to travel again to exhibitions and art fairs.

Cor ‘t Hart, photographer, and designer, born 1948, Rotterdam, The Netherlands. Founder and Art Director of International Digital Magazine Photo & Technique. Studied at the Photo Vocational School and the Academy of Art. Cor started his career as a professional photographer in the sixties and received The best Animal Photographer Award specialized in Cats & Dogs. At that time he worked for lots of magazines, publishers and advertising agencies. His images were published in more than 200 books about food, sport, industry, architecture, interior and hobby. 16 Books about ‘Dog of Breed’ sold more than 6 million copies. At the moment he gives workshops, lectures and recently started a Photography school, with a program for beginners and professionals.

Daria Gladkova is a fashion/beauty photographer based in Miami, USA. Well known as the most popular Ukrainian-speaking photographer in Florida. She made photo shoots with top models, ‘Queen of pose’- Coco Rocha, singers, and actors from all over the world. Her photos were published in magazines such as: Vogue, Harper's Bazaar, L'officiel , Numero, Cosmopolitan, OK, Grazia and many others.

Guo Jing, EFIAP, GPU CR-3, GPU Hermes, is a curator from China. She has been invited to jury panels of photography competitions and festivals in the United States, Austria, Greece, UAE, Italy, and many more. As a sought after photo reviewer, she has been invited to portfolio review events at Lishui International Photography Festival in 2012 and Photolucida in the United States in 2017 and 2019. She has been commissioned as Chief Curator for “Camel Bell on Silk Road” Naiman International Photo Festival and international section of Yixian Photo Festival. She has been given the honorary title of Top 10 Chinese Photography Curators.She also curated several photo exchange events with collaborators in other countries. She is the author of the book Top Secrets of Award-winning Photography.

Gina Williams is a freelance journalist based near Portland, Oregon USA. She covers arts and culture with a focus on photography and photographers. She writes for publications such as LensCulture, FujiLove, FRAMES Magazine, Street Photography Magazine, and AI/AP Pro Photo Daily, among other publications. Gina is also a published essayist, poet, and visual artist. She is the author of "An Unwavering Horizon," a full-length collection of poetry. Gina believes in the power of photography and art to inspire, educate, and broaden our collective perspectives.

Marianna Santoni is a photographer and retoucher. University lecturer and researcher. A real authority in this field. She is one of the world’s leading experts in the field of digital photography and retouching and this has been borne out by the great number of official awards she has received from the most important companies and brands in digital imaging. For almost twenty years she has been collaborating regularly with internationally renowned photographers, many government organizations including the Italian Army and the most important companies of the field including: Adobe®, Canon®, Canson®, Eizo®, Elinchrom®, Epson®, Fujifilm®, HP®, Nikon®, Wacom®, X-Rite®.

British born Christina Force founded the first photo agency in New Zealand, launching photographers globally for over 17 years. Since becoming a photo consultant a decade ago she has mentored hundreds of photographers, and co-founded the only Asia based review and education event, CA+, and a visual voice workshop, The Series Project. She’s been a guest speaker and reviewer for Image Nation, AIPA (NZ), CATC Design School, Vivid, Canon, ACMP (Australia), The New York Academy of Film, New York Photoplus, Palm Springs Photo Fest, ASMP (USA), and CA+ (Hong Kong and Singapore). Force has been an IPA Lucie Foundation juror since 2011 and was a curator for the Women’s Work exhibition in Auckland.

Nathaniel Gaskell is the co-founder of the Museum of Art & Photography (MAP), Bangalore, and the founder and director of the MAP Academy. He is the author of Photography in India: A Visual History from the 1850s to the Present (Prestel, 2018), and editor of several other titles on art and photography in Asia, including William Dalrymple’s The Historian’s Eye (HarperCollins India), Derry Moore’s In the Shadow of the Raj (Prestel, 2017) and Karan Kapoor’s Time & Tide and Hikari: Contemporary Photography from Japan. In 2020 he established Cara Consulting – a creative agency and design studio specialising in the art and culture sector. He received a BA in Fine Art from the Arts University College, Bournemouth, and an MA in Cultural Studies from the London Consortium. He lives between Bangalore and Singapore.

Naya Poultidou studied photography, history of art and curating. In 2003, she started working as a Photo Editor for photo agencies and women's magazines in Greece. In 2014 she won the photo editing prize at Taschen editions contest. She has been the Photo Editor of Vogue Greece since 2018. She lives and works in Athens, Greece.

Thorsten Gerke, born in 1977 he grew up in northern Germany on the Baltic Sea. Before joining DER SPIEGEL as a picture editor in 2005, he was a freelance picture editor for various magazines. He plans and conceptualizes in the field of portrait, reportage and still-life for digital and print projects with a narrative and humanistic focus.

Werner Deisenroth, born in Berchtesgaden, high-school, military services, university, start in photography as sports photographer. Worldwide. Change into reportage- and magazine-photography. Jean Dykstra is the editor of photograph magazine and a longtime art critic who writes regularly about photography. She has contributed essays to numerous exhibition catalogues and books on photography, including, most recently, Running Falling Flying Floating Crawling (2020, Saint Lucy Books), Walter Chandoha: Dogs: Photographs, 1941-1991 (2020, Taschen), and A Trilogy by Jessica Backhaus (2017, Kehrer Verlag). She was the juror for the exhibition Wonder for the Center for Fine Art Photography in Fort Collins, CO (fall 2018), and she curated the exhibition Traces of the Material World at the Happy Lucky Gallery in Brooklyn (2017). She has been a panelist several times at the AIPAD Photography Show in New York City.

Giampaolo Paci is the owner of the Paci contemporary gallery, opened in 2004, showing the preference towards photography as the main field of investigation of visual arts. Member of AIPAD, the most important international association of photography galleries in the world, since 2014, the gallery owns a second exhibition space in addition to the original one in Brescia, open during summer, in Porto Cervo in Sardinia. From over 14 years the gallery offers a wide overview on some of the most important international photographers, represented exclusively. In 2020 Mr. Paci founded “Paci contemporary channel” 809 SKY, a channel totally focused on the activity of the gallery.

Daniela Delia, Stylist and beauty image consulting for advertising campaigns, fashion editorials, luxury events including all aspects of the modeling industry. Consistent presence at Paris and Milan Fashion Week. Her works have often been published and posted on the most important international magazines. W Magazine ranks her among the 10 star dressed of the year in 4 fashion capitals, Milan, Paris, London, New York.
