I love photographing roads. Roads evoke an uplifting feeling within me. Perhaps it is because it symbolises journeying and discovery. Even while sitting in a moving car, my camera is always at the ready. This is one such image. As we drove through the South African countryside, we eschewed the main roads and took the gravelly rural roads. It was quite a bumpy adventure. On this Route 43, the road undulated high and low and my first images were just of the road as there weren’t any cars. By sheer luck, one emerged over the summit and I was ready to capture it.
