Summer, sun, light - like a breeze, Diemut von Funck's fine art photographs invite us to dive in, awakening an atmosphere of lightness and transparency, tracing "what could be", far from our reality. Moments of the unexpected beyond clear definitions emerge, colours and shapes dissolve, appealing to the viewer to accept these ciphers as memories of fleeting moments of happiness and to reinterpret them for themselves, to work out the pictorial experience from scratch with the help of a proactive perception.
The seven works shown in this studio exhibition have largely taken on a formal life of their own, either as a macro-cut, through the movement of the camera, of the image motif or through its inversion as a reflection on the surface of the water. As a result, Diemut von Funck creates a polychrome pictorial reality that explores the boundary between depictiveness and abstraction and draws aesthetic profit from the transformation.
