Violence in the Gaza Strip by Abed Zaqout

Photojournalist Abed Zaqout visually reports and documents violence in the Gaza Strip. “I became a photojournalist because it is my passion and my hobby and I find myself in this profession.” He is 35 years old from Palestine Gaza City. “I started filming in 2008 after I graduated from the university media department. I work as a photography instructor, university lecturer and photography consultant for many local and international institutions.”

He also workes as a freelance photographer for many local and international agencies and sites. Abed Zaqout has received several awards in photography, the most important is the International Red Cross Photography Award in 2018 in the first place. “High-quality photojournalism distinguishes a strong image which contains the strong content first and taken at the right angle and with the right equipment and harness the light”, he says. He got participated in several exhibitions around the world. These days he produces long-term photography projects for later viewing.
