Tears of River Erosion by Sharwar Hussain, New Discovery of the Year
Mr. Hossein Farmani, founder of the International Photography Awards, shared his thoughts on the importance of photography and art, "In the past years, we have seen the world changed drastically from one day to another and the strength of humanity has been tested. We all had to face difficulties and loss, but all the entries we have received last year demonstrates that we are resilient and that art helps us process and endure even the hardest of times. I remain hopeful in seeing what the next year has in store for humanity and what truly brilliant photography works will be entered into the 2022 edition of IPA."
Sharwar Hussain's haunting image titled "Tears of River Erosion" was chosen as the best among Non-Professional photographers and earned him the "Discovery of the Year 2021" title. The main character's red clothes bring attention to the serious and threatening matter of climate change and extreme weather occurrences such as floods and the peril that millions of people often find themselves in due to these environmental changes.
Main category winners of the 2022 IPA will also be exhibited around the world in various galleries and House of Lucie locations, showcasing their works to an international audience of art and photography lovers.
