Hardijanto Budiman, please introduce yourself

My name is Hardijanto Budiman aka. Hardibudi, a Visual artist base in Jakarta, Indonesia. My life is overflowing with creating works of Art! Since I was a boy I really love anything related to Art especially in Painting & Music. For me Photography is the best media to express my passion in Art. I don't classify myself as 'pure' Photographer. My works just like the Journey of my life! It is all about the expression of Imagination, Emotion & Experiences of my life. My favorite genre are Conceptual & Contemporary Photography. I also love anything about Surreal World! That's why lots of my pictures strongly influenced with Surreal touch. 

Where do you live, does your place of residence inspire you to take pictures?

I live in BSD City it's about 40 Km west of Jakarta, Indonesia. I love my neighborhood, it's quite & peaceful, most of my Inspirations & Ideas come out on that moments! 

Do you have a photographic background?

I'm a self taught Photographer.

How comes that you are interested in photography?

I think Photography is the best media to express my passion in Art.

Which photographer has inspired your photography?

There are many amazing artist who's been inspired me, but most of them are not photographers such as Salvador Dali, Rene Magritte, Andy Warhol, Yayoi Kusama. There are some Photographer that I really admired such as Fan Ho, Sebastiao Salgado, Noelle Oszvald, Brooke Shaden. 

Why do you work in black and white / color?

I do whatever I like, there is no reason for me to make my photographs to be BW or Color.

How do you prepare for a photo?

The preparation for every concept of my work just like making a movie. The flow begins with Observations, Ideas, Story board, Casting models, Properties, Execution, Editing, Evaluation and Finalizing. 

What is your technique and the creation process?

I only use Photoshop for my Post Processing 

Which projects would you like to tackle?

I never make some kind of resolutions or goals for my Photography journey, everything just flowing like a river.   

What do you do in your life besides photography?

I have a small business in Trading
