Hospitals are surreal by Ruth Penn

This photo series from Ruth Penn presents the hospital through the eyes of a person waking up from anesthesia, as though in a dream, where the scene is constant but space and soul travel through it. Ruth shows us a surreal atmosphere of a sterile environment, constantly lit with bright, glowing white lights; a beehive that never stops working and toiling. A real Perpetuum Mobile in very slow motion, defying reason or reality.

They are an alien world within our cities; or, at least, another, strange world within our habitat. A world of different rules and timelines, a world we stumble upon as if emerging from a spaceship.
