I see colorful dreams by Ligin Lee

Life is more beautiful when it is a dream. It is actually a dream for Ligin Lee, through her imaginative eyes. We can say so when we see some other artists’ works. But they are often so dark like our bad dreams, our nightmares while Ligin’s pictures are positive, beautiful and heart-warming.

Welcome to my cosmos city by Ligin Lee

Taipei is still very lively at night. I walked on the sky bridge, the neon lights in the distance shone on the street, and the lights of motorcycles and cars also joined the noisy stage. It looked like I was in a beautiful cosmos field.

During her creative process, she talks to herself and finds that the creation of her art is a reaction to her current emotions. Sometimes singing, sometimes reciting, sometimes examining, a window of the soul seems to open unconsciously. “On the one hand we create, on the other hand, we dismantle ourselves and then remodel. It’s like a journey, but also a way forward.”

“Clouds come floating into my life, no longer to carry rain or usher storm, but to add color to my sunset sky.” ― Rabindranath Tagore

Even in black and white featured in some other series, we can see a playful fluffy teddy bear, a hopeful balloon or a glowing heart. And when they’re dark, they do not look scary, they just make us think of how we can make this world more beautiful.

“You can’t cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.” ― Rabindranath Tagore

Ligin Lee was born in Taiwan in Miaoli County, near the sea. At the age of four, she moved with her parents to Taipei. In her youth, she was influenced by Western art and trained in the printing industry. In her art, she always longed for the pure, beautiful world.

“If you cry because the sun has gone out of your life, your tears will prevent you from seeing the stars.” ― Rabindranath Tagore

At the age of 55, after graduating from the Institute of Visual Arts of Taipei City University, she created more works of art that take human life as the starting point. In her works, she showed the meaning of life, the reality unseen and undermined by the normal eyes. She created new visual concepts that wander between self-expression and the subconscious.

TAGREE, I love the cultural work you do, I donate to show you my sincere appreciation
