Why look into the distance by Stefan Zimmermann

“Why look into the distance…” So is a winged word based on the opening verses of Johann Wolfgang von Goethe’s quatrain “Erinnerung”. After the photo series respectively photo tour from Tenerife at the beginning of the year, longing is back in focus, but this time settled in the middle of Germany. What Heidi already confused in Johanna Spyri’s children’s book also takes place here. The Taunus and its surroundings lure with photographs from the infrared spectrum of light -invisible to the human eye, captured with a special infrared camera. The photos by Stefan Zimmermann go beyond the usual image of the German middle mountains and question viewing habits. According to the motto “Do we see reality, what we want to see or where the photographer wants to take us?”
