World Water Day Photo Contest 2022: Online Award Ceremony on March 22nd

The award ceremony of the photo contest "World Water Day Photo Contest 2022 | Water, Making the Invisible Visible" will take place on the occasion of World Water Day, which has been celebrated every year on March 22 since 1992 at the initiative of UN-Water, which coordinates the efforts of UN agencies and international organizations working on water and sanitation issues. Indeed, protection of and access to drinking water are core issues of the United Nations 2030 Agenda.

The event will be broadcast online on the official website and will be enriched by a concert of the brass quintet "Milano Luster Brass" at Palazzo Arese Borromeo in Cesano Maderno and will perform wonderful transcriptions of great opera arias, from Charpentier to Mozart and Verdi, conducted by Andrea Scarduelli, artistic director of the competition.

UN-Water, co-organizer of the photo contest, dedicates World Water Day to promoting concrete activities around the world to raise people's awareness of the right to water. The Lions Club Seregno AID stimulates awareness of respect for drinking water through photography and supports international actions for access to water resources for populations in need, such as the project "Koom la viim" (Water is Life) in Burkina Faso, which will be completed in 2021 thanks to the contribution of all of you, participants and supporters. Lions chairpersons, representatives of participating institutions, associations and sponsors of the World Water Day Photo Contest will remind us that the commitment of the entire human society is necessary and mandatory to responsibly and generously guarantee drinking water and hygienic services to humanity.
